A CHARTER ORDINANCE AMENDING CHARTER ORDINANCE NO.9 OF THE CITY OF GREENSBURG, KANSAS, TO CORRECT AN ERROR IN SECTION 2 THEREOF.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Greensburg, Kansas:

SECTION 1: Section 2 of Charter Ordinance No. 9 of the City of Greensburg, Kansas, is hereby amended as follows:

       SECTION 2: A regular city election shall be held on the first Tuesday in April of each even-numbered year. On the first Tuesday in April, 2008 there shall be elected a mayor and five council members. At the election the mayor, and the two council members receiving the highest number of votes shall be declared elected for a term of four (4) years. The candidates for council receiving the next three highest number of votes shall be elected for a term of two (2) year. Succeeding elections for all such offices shall be for a term of four (4) years, or until successors to such offices are elected and qualified,”

SECTION 2: That all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict therewith are hereby repealed.
